Auto repair in the United States is split between independent shops, dealership service departments and national chains. Independents handle most routine work (oil changes, brakes, tune-ups, check-engine diagnostics) at lower labor rates and often specialize in one make or in imports; dealers keep factory tools, software and warranty authority; chains sell speed and standard pricing on maintenance items. Most shops charge a diagnostic fee, credited toward the repair if you go ahead, and quote parts and labor separately. Certification matters: look for ASE-certified technicians and, in many states, a state repair license posted at the counter. Written estimates are required by law in most states before work begins, and you are entitled to your old parts if you ask.

Round Rock is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Round Rock follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. I had never been there before and as I pulled up someone was already walking out to my car. They showed me to the good sized waiting area that had vending machines, one with drinks and the other with snacks. They had a TV in the area as well. They inspected my car then let me know it was done and it was quick and hassle free! I highly recommend Pit Pros of Round Rock off Mays. Great Job Guys!

I have been getting my oil change at Pit Pros for many years, always a pleasurable experience. Until now. Today, I took my truck in for its 5,000 mile oil change. I didn’t see any familiar faces. I was informed that the place is under new ownership. That’s ok because they had oil change history in their computer. I sat down in the waiting room where I’ve been many times. Usually other customers are there, reading, working on their laptop. But today, a man was slouching on a chair, watching TV/videos on his phone with the volume blasting. I sat down to work, and asked him if he’d lower the volume. He got up, came over, stood real close and told me in Spanish that if I was bothered by the loud sound, I didn’t need to come here! He angrily walked out. A few minutes later, I went out front, and wow! That rude, video watching man was changing my oil! Emilio, turns out, works at Pit Pros! At the register, I asked if he owned the place, because only a business owner would have the nerve to watch TV in the waiting room and tell a paying customer he shouldn’t come here if he’s bothered with the loudness of his video! I told him that I was surprised at how he treated me as a customer an

I have been going here for several years now, and I have always been very pleased with their customer service. I even refer them to friends and family looking for a shop. But this past weekend has changed my view. My son and I rushed over after his game around 3:30, because he needed an oil change before heading out of town to Port A for their break. When I go there, I asked the gentleman, who has always been nice to me if I could get an oil change, and he said no that after the 2 cars that were already being worked on were done, he was closing up. I proceeded to see if he would make an exception for my 17-year-old since he was going out of town, but I couldn't even finish asking without him abruptly and rudely interrupting me just to repeat that no he can't. I was a bit caught off guard because he has always been kind to me, but not this time. Even if he would have listened to me, and then kindly told me he was sorry but needed to close and wouldn't be able to, that would have sufficed for me. It isn't about the fact that he turned me away, it is just that the customer service could have been better in this situation, and had it been I would still continue to do service th

Right from the beginning I could feel the Hispanic guy wasn't going to provide good customer service based on his unfriendly demeanor. Didn't greet my husband. He asked for our insurance card, then said "I'll take it from here". Once he started the car he could not miss that the check engine light was on. He completed the diagnostics, then motioned for us to go inside. He then said "you failed because your check engine light is on, it will be $11.50, here is why it's on(pointing to the paper) and you have 15 days to return". He basically charged me for nothing. He could have told me once he saw the light on that I wouldn't pass. Instead he went ahead to charge me the $11.50. My biggest issue is his lack of customer service, and communication skills. I know these are two hard qualities to teach, but anyone dealing with the public should have the common sense that being friendly and cordial goes a long way if you want customers to return. I will fix my coil and waste the $11.50 he charged me because I will take my business elsewhere for a state inspection that has better customer service. By the way, last year this place passed my car for the inspection and the check engine light w
